Bisphenol A (BPA) High Risk

An industrial chemical used to make certain plastics and resins since the 1950s. Found in polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins that line food and beverage cans.

Regulatory Status

Banned in baby bottles in EU, Canada, and several US states. FDA has not banned its use in food packaging.

What to Avoid

Plastics marked with recycling code 7 (unless also labeled BPA-free), thermal paper receipts

Safer Alternatives

Glass containers, stainless steel bottles, fresh or frozen foods instead of canned
