Plastic Wrap & Cling Film
Thin plastic film used to cover and preserve food. May be made from PVC (contains phthalates) or LDPE (generally safer). Direct food contact, especially with fatty or hot foods, increases chemical migration.
Why It Matters
Direct contact with food allows chemical migration. Heat dramatically increases leaching. Fatty foods absorb more plasticizers. PVC versions contain concerning plasticizers.
